Past Projects

Here are just a few of the projects, partnerships and collaborations Helen has most enjoyed over the years:

Letting Space and Urban Dream Brokerage (2012-2018)

Manager, Producer, Broker and Facilitator

Helen had the privilege to work alongside Mark Amery & Sophie Jerram to broker and enable 100’s of artists present their work in vacant shops, offices and public spaces in Wellington and across Aotearoa.

Working outside of traditional gallery and theatre spaces is an art in of itself. To navigate and facilitate this work – specifically to break down the barriers for people to access these new ideas – has been a lifelong passion for Helen.

Working through new ideas and concepts; finding and brokering central city spaces (for free); partnering owners and artists together and then invite the public to participate in this innovative work is incredibly challenging, very rewarding and if nothing else, humbling.

TEDxWellington (2012-2022)

https://www.tedxwellington.com

Trustee, Producer and Head of Partnership & Sponsorship

Instigated by TEDx Licensee DK and together with Hannah Wignall the three co-founded WellingtonX Trust and delivered TEDxTeAro and TEDxWellington for a decade. Events were held across the city’s venues including TePapa, Park Road Post, Shed 6 and St Jame’s Theatre.

Helen was responsible for securing sponsorship and managing the relationship with Corporate Partners. Creating and delivering meaningful in-kind support, benefits and rewards for Patrons and Donors was the crux of this role.

It was a great privilege for Helen to secure the legacy of this work and to create an entity to support future volunteers to deliver an annual event in the capital.

Blast Theory (1997-2005)

Company Manager

Working alongside founders Matt Adams, Ju Row Farr and Nick Tandavanitj from 1997-2006 Helen’s love of live art, immersive and participative theatre was born.

As Company Manager she oversaw the delivery of all Blast Theory projects in relation to financial management, logistics and venue liaison. This included national and international tours and residencies; a permanent exhibition at the Science Museum in London as well as securing fixed term funding from the Arts Council of England to secure a long term administrative HQ at Toynbee Studios, London.

Creating long term strategies and blue sky goals with Blast Theory to secure partnerships  across the arts sector, academia, festivals and venues around the world was a huge privilege.
